It’s 10 pm at night, and my husband is patiently waiting for me to close this laptop so I can join him in bed and call it a night. I am not ready yet, soon, but not quite yet. This is a short blog. Short and sweet! I had a busy Sunday. Finally launched my blog today, and I have been nervous all week. I am finally sitting down in my living room, staring at my beautiful flower arrangement that is still looking hella gorgeous after 1 week! A gift from me to me. Everything about the arrangement makes me happy. The colors, the design, the box!
I treated myself last weekend. I didn’t have to, it wasn’t a need, it wasn’t necessary. I could have definitely used that money to fill up my SUV, but no, fuck it, I bought flowers instead, and a gorgeous customized oversized balloon. All of this for me! Weird thing is that I am not into flowers all that much. My wedding would have been flowerless if it hadn’t been for my sweet mother in law (Lidia, I am forever grateful for the flowers at our wedding! xoxo)
What’s my point in all this, right ? Do the things you want to do, when you want to do it. Even if it’s just random flowers, or a big ass balloon with your logo on it, on a random day! Don’t wait for someone to come along and do it for you or do it with you. It can be the tiniest of thing, or it can be something extravagant. Don’t wait for what you think is the right moment either. It may never be the right moment. As long as nobody is getting hurt, what is there to lose ? Do something that makes you smile, spoil yourself, treat yourself to something that you wouldn’t normally do.
This blog was inspired by my best friend, who happens to be one of the coolest cats I know. I admire her, she inspires me. She is packing up and heading to Bali, in April, alone. She is treating herself to this adventure of a lifetime. Bali is on her bucket list and she’s not letting anybody, or anything get in her way. Sure, people are probably thinking “Why? How? Seriously? You’re kidding? You’re crazy! You’re not going”, fuck them. She’s an inspiration. And I hope she will continue to accomplish the adventures on her bucket list for as long as she can.
I am lucky to have a supportive husband who encourages me to enjoy my “treat myself moments” because I encourage him to do the same. Right now, it’s him and I, but one day we will be parents, and I will make sure to never forget about myself. My mother always told me that a mother has to make sure to love herself, and take care of herself, in order to give her 100% to her family. So to all the mamas out there, a little advice from my mother.
Yesterday , 2 amazing women in my life and myself spent the day at the Spa. It was amazing. We relaxed, we froze, we had mimosas and wine, we shared our thoughts, we swang on some comfy ass swings (as seen in this picture) , and boy did we laugh (so much for those SILENCE signs plastered everywhere haha) Total “treat yourself” moment for all 3 of us! Don’t wait too long , treat yourself, because you should!
